Ages use calendar months, so a full month is counted from the same date in the following month, exactly the way an official age is recorded. Leap days are included automatically.

Why this age calculator is better

Most age calculators return one line of text and stop there. This one gives you the full picture in a single screen, with the details people actually search for afterwards.

Exact age, not a rounded one

Years, months and days calculated with real calendar lengths — including 28, 29, 30 and 31 day months — so the result matches what a passport or school form expects.

Six unit conversions at once

See your age in months, weeks, days, hours, minutes and seconds without running a second calculation or opening another tab.

Age on any date you choose

Check how old you were on a past date or will be on a future one — useful for school cut-offs, visa forms, retirement dates and legal age thresholds.

Birthday countdown built in

The exact date of your next birthday, the weekday it falls on, how many days are left and the age you will turn — with 29 February handled correctly.

Nothing is uploaded

Every calculation runs in your browser. Your date of birth is never sent to a server, stored in a database or shared with a third party.

Made for phones first

Large tap targets, native date pickers, readable numbers and a layout that never shifts while loading — no pinching, no horizontal scrolling, no pop-ups.

How to use the age calculator

Two fields, one tap. The whole thing takes about ten seconds.

Enter your date of birth

Tap the first field and pick your birth date, or type it directly. The calculator accepts any date from the year 1900 onwards and rejects dates in the future.

Choose the date to measure to

Leave it on today for your current age, or set a different date to find your age on a school cut-off, an exam date, a wedding day or a future retirement date.

Read your exact age

You get years, months and days at the top, then the same age converted into months, weeks, days, hours, minutes and seconds in the cards below.

Copy or share the result

What you can use it for

An accurate chronological age matters more often than people expect — and manual counting on a calendar is where most mistakes happen.

  • Forms and applications. Passports, visas, insurance and job applications often want age in completed years and months on a specific date, not today.
  • School admissions. Most schools set an age cut-off date. Enter that date to see whether a child qualifies before you fill in the paperwork.
  • Baby and toddler milestones. Track age in exact months and weeks for vaccination schedules, growth charts and developmental checks.
  • Eligibility thresholds. Driving, voting, pension access and retirement account rules all hinge on reaching an exact age on an exact day.
  • Birthday planning. Know the weekday of the next birthday months in advance so you can book a venue or take leave early.
  • Curiosity and content. Total days lived, the 10,000-day mark and the one-billion-second milestone make for genuinely fun facts.

Age calculator FAQs

The questions people ask most often about calculating age from a date of birth.

How do I calculate my age from my date of birth?

Subtract the birth year from the current year, then subtract one more year if your birthday has not yet arrived this year. The remaining months and days are counted forward from your last birthday. Doing this by hand is where errors creep in, because month lengths differ; entering the date above does it exactly.

How old am I if I was born in a leap year on 29 February?

Your age still increases by one every year. In non-leap years most countries treat 1 March as the day you legally turn a year older, while many people celebrate on 28 February. This calculator shows 28 February as the next birthday in common years and 29 February whenever the year has one, and the year count is identical either way.

What is chronological age and how is it different from biological age?

Chronological age is simply the time elapsed since you were born, which is what this tool calculates and what every official form asks for. Biological age is an estimate of how your body is functioning compared with population averages, based on measurements such as blood markers or fitness. The two can differ by years in either direction.

Can I find my age on a future or past date?

Yes. Change the second field from today to any other date. It works both ways, so you can check how old you were when a photo was taken or how old you will be on a retirement date, a school cut-off or an exam day.

How many days old am I?

The total days card gives the exact number, counting every leap day since you were born. As a rough guide, each year adds about 365.25 days, so someone aged 30 has lived roughly 10,958 days — but the calculator returns your precise figure rather than an average.

Why does my age in months not equal my age in years multiplied by twelve?

It does, plus any extra completed months since your last birthday. If you are 30 years and 7 months old, your total is 367 months. The months card counts every completed calendar month since birth, which is why it is usually higher than a simple multiplication of your age in years.

Is my date of birth stored or shared anywhere?

No. The calculator runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Nothing is transmitted to a server, saved to an account or written to a database, and closing the page clears everything you entered.

Does it work in every country and date format?

Yes. The date fields use your device's native picker, so the display follows your regional format — day/month/year, month/day/year or year-month-day — while the underlying calculation is identical everywhere. The Gregorian calendar is used throughout.
