Real monthly figure
Variable pay is separated from fixed salary, so your monthly in-hand is what actually lands in your bank each month.
FY 2026-27 · New Labour Code ready
Turn any CTC into your real monthly take-home pay. This in-hand salary calculator splits your package into basic, HRA, PF, gratuity and tax, and picks the tax regime that leaves more money in your account.
Most CTC calculators ignore variable pay, gratuity and your tax regime, so the number they show never matches your payslip. This one models all of it.
Variable pay is separated from fixed salary, so your monthly in-hand is what actually lands in your bank each month.
Tax is worked out under both regimes with HRA and 80C, and the one that leaves you more is applied.
Switch between the ₹15,000 wage ceiling, full 12% of basic, or no PF, exactly as companies structure it.
Move the basic salary share to see how a 50% wage rule changes PF, gratuity and your take-home.
Basic, HRA, special allowance, deductions and employer costs, monthly and yearly, ready to copy.
A colour bar shows what share of your package is cash, tax, retirement savings and benefits.
Keep your offer letter open. It takes about 30 seconds.
Type the total cost to company from your offer letter. Lakh and crore hints confirm the amount.
Use the sliders for basic salary share and bonus. If unsure, keep basic at 50% and variable at 0%.
Most companies cap PF at ₹1,800 a month. Tick gratuity if your offer letter lists it inside CTC.
Leave it on Best for me, or choose New or Old. Add rent and investments to test the old regime.

Your CTC includes money you never see each month. Here is how the calculator gets from package to payslip.
CTC − employer PF − gratuity − insurance
Gross − standard deduction (₹75,000 new, ₹50,000 old), minus HRA and 80C in the old regime.
Gross − employee PF − professional tax − income tax
Fixed part of yearly in-hand divided by 12. Variable pay is paid separately, after its share of tax.
New tax regime, basic at 50% of CTC, PF capped at ₹1,800 a month, gratuity included, ₹2,500 professional tax and no variable pay.
| Annual CTC | Income tax | Yearly in-hand | Monthly in-hand |
|---|---|---|---|
| ₹6 LPA | ₹0 | ₹5,39,870 | ₹44,989 |
| ₹10 LPA | ₹0 | ₹9,30,250 | ₹77,521 |
| ₹12 LPA | ₹0 | ₹11,25,440 | ₹93,787 |
| ₹15 LPA | ₹88,503 | ₹13,29,722 | ₹1,10,810 |
| ₹20 LPA | ₹1,77,902 | ₹17,28,298 | ₹1,44,025 |
| ₹25 LPA | ₹2,45,252 | ₹21,48,923 | ₹1,79,077 |
A ₹12 LPA package pays zero tax in the new regime because taxable income stays under the ₹12 lakh rebate limit. Use the income tax calculator for a detailed regime comparison.
Two offers with the same CTC can differ by thousands a month once PF, gratuity and bonus are separated.
Ask for more fixed pay instead of variable pay when you see how little a bonus adds each month.
Lenders look at net monthly income. Knowing it helps you plan rent, EMIs and SIPs realistically.
Declare the regime that maximises take-home to your employer at the start of the year.
CTC is the total amount your employer spends on you in a year, including employer PF, gratuity, insurance and bonus. In-hand salary is what reaches your bank account after employee PF, professional tax and income tax are deducted.
Subtract employer PF, gratuity and insurance from CTC to get gross salary. Then subtract employee PF, professional tax and income tax. Divide the fixed portion by 12 for your monthly in-hand salary.
With basic at 50% of CTC, PF capped at ₹1,800 a month, gratuity included and the new tax regime, a ₹12 LPA package gives about ₹93,787 a month. Income tax is zero because taxable income stays within the ₹12 lakh rebate limit.
Both you and your employer contribute to EPF. The employer's share is already part of CTC and never appears in your payslip, while your own share is deducted from gross salary. Both go into your PF account.
Many companies include gratuity in CTC at about 4.81% of basic salary. It is not paid monthly. You receive it when you leave after completing the eligible period of service, so it lowers monthly take-home but adds to long-term savings.
The Labour Codes generally require wages, mainly basic pay, to be at least 50% of total pay. A higher basic raises PF and gratuity, which can slightly reduce monthly take-home while increasing retirement savings. Use the basic salary slider to see the effect.
For most salaried people the new regime gives higher take-home because of lower rates and the ₹12 lakh rebate. The old regime can win if you pay high rent and claim large deductions. Choose Best for me and the calculator applies the cheaper one.
Yes. Variable pay or bonus is part of CTC but paid once or a few times a year, often based on performance. The higher the variable share, the lower your fixed monthly take-home.
Your CTC is a headline. Your in-hand salary is what pays the bills. Run your numbers and compare offers with confidence.
