QR Code Generator
Create a QR code for a link, Wi-Fi network, email, phone number or contact card, then download it as a sharp PNG or a scalable SVG. Everything is generated inside your browser, so the codes never expire and nothing is tracked.
- No expiry, no redirects
- PNG and SVG download
- Custom colours and size
- Free for commercial use
Your QR code updates as you type.

- -Modules
- -Capacity used
Why this QR code generator is safer to use
Many free generators quietly wrap your link in their own redirect, then start charging once the code is printed. That cannot happen here.
Codes that never expire
Your data is encoded directly into the pattern. There is no short link in the middle, so the code keeps working even if this site disappears.
Nothing leaves your device
The encoder runs in your browser. Wi-Fi passwords and contact details are never uploaded, logged or scanned by anyone else.
True vector SVG
Download an SVG for print work and it stays razor sharp at any size, from a business card to a shop window.
Six ready made formats
Link, plain text, Wi-Fi login, email, phone or SMS, and a contact card. The correct syntax is built for you.
Colour and error control
Match your brand colours and pick the error correction level, with live feedback on version and capacity as you type.
Free for commercial work
No watermark, no account, no usage limit. Put the codes on packaging, menus, posters or products without asking.
How to create a QR code
Pick what the code should do
Choose a tab. A link opens a page, Wi-Fi joins a network without typing a password, and Contact saves a phone number straight into the address book.
Fill in the details
The preview redraws on every keystroke, so you can see the code grow denser as you add more information.
Set correction and colours
Medium suits most uses. Move up to Quartile or High for anything printed, where dirt, curves and reflections cost you accuracy.
Download and test
Take the PNG for screens or the SVG for print, then scan the final file with a real phone before it goes anywhere.
Choosing the right error correction level
Every QR code carries spare data so it still scans when part of it is damaged. More protection means a denser pattern, so the choice is a trade between robustness and how small you can print.
| Level | Recovers | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Low (L) | About 7% | Screens and clean digital use where nothing can be damaged |
| Medium (M) | About 15% | The sensible default for most links and posters |
| Quartile (Q) | About 25% | Menus, labels and anything handled or printed small |
| High (H) | About 30% | Industrial use, curved surfaces, or codes with a logo on top |
The version number in the preview tells you how big the grid is. Version 1 is a 21 by 21 pattern, and each step up adds four modules per side. Shorter content means a lower version, a simpler pattern and a code that scans from further away.
Printing tips that stop codes failing
- Keep the quiet zone. Leave clear space around the code equal to four modules. Text or artwork touching the edge is the most common reason a scan fails.
- Do not invert the colours. Scanners expect a dark code on a light background. A light code on dark fails on many phone cameras.
- Keep the contrast high. Pale grey on white looks elegant and scans badly. Aim for a clearly dark foreground.
- Mind the minimum size. A rough rule is one centimetre of code for every ten centimetres of scanning distance, so a poster read from two metres needs about twenty centimetres.
- Shorten the link first. Fewer characters mean a lower version and larger modules, which scan faster and from further away.
- Test on real phones. Check the printed piece with both an iPhone and an Android camera before you order a full run.
