Every roll uses your browser's cryptographic random generator with rejection sampling, so every face is exactly equally likely.

Most dice sites roll a couple of flat six-sided dice. This one covers board games, tabletop RPGs and classrooms with real 3D dice and the rules players actually use.
Every roll uses your browser's cryptographic random generator with rejection sampling, so every face is exactly equally likely.
Roll d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20, percentile d100 or any custom die from 2 to 1,000 sides, up to 12 at a time.
Type 1d20+5, 2d8+1d6+3 or 4d6dl1. Keep highest, keep lowest and drop dice are supported for D&D and Pathfinder.
Roll a d20 with advantage or disadvantage in one tap, with natural 20s and natural 1s called out automatically.
Tap any six-sided die to keep it for the next roll, exactly how Yahtzee, Farkle and other dice games are played.
See the possible range and average of every roll, plus a session history with your highest and average results.

Tabletop games write dice as NdS: the number of dice, the letter d and the number of sides. So 3d6 means roll three six-sided dice and add them up.
Modifiers and keep or drop rules let you describe almost any roll in a few characters. All of these work in the custom notation box.
| Write | Meaning | Example |
|---|---|---|
NdS | Roll N dice with S sides | 3d6 |
+M or -M | Add or subtract a number | 1d20+5 |
d% | Percentile die, 1 to 100 | d% |
khN / klN | Keep the highest or lowest N dice | 2d20kh1 |
dlN / dhN | Drop the lowest or highest N dice | 4d6dl1 |
| Combine | Mix several dice and numbers | 2d8+1d6+3 |
Tabletop role-playing games use a standard set of polyhedral dice, while most board games stick to six-sided dice.
| Die | Shape | Average roll | Common use |
|---|---|---|---|
| d4 | Tetrahedron (4 faces) | 2.5 | Small weapon damage, healing spells |
| d6 | Cube (6 faces) | 3.5 | Board games, Yahtzee, Monopoly, Ludo, fireball damage |
| d8 | Octahedron (8 faces) | 4.5 | Longsword damage, hit dice |
| d10 | Pentagonal trapezohedron (10 faces) | 5.5 | Heavy weapons, percentile rolls in pairs |
| d12 | Dodecahedron (12 faces) | 6.5 | Greataxe damage, barbarian hit dice |
| d20 | Icosahedron (20 faces) | 10.5 | Attack rolls, ability checks and saving throws |
| d100 | Percentile (two d10s) | 50.5 | Percentage chances and random tables |
With two six-sided dice there are 36 equally likely combinations, but totals are not equally likely. Seven can be made six ways, so it comes up most often, while 2 and 12 each need one exact pair.
For a single d20, a natural 20 has a 5% chance. Rolling with advantage raises that to 9.75% and lifts the average roll from 10.5 to about 13.8. Disadvantage lowers the average to about 7.2.
| Total (2d6) | Ways | Chance |
|---|---|---|
| 2 or 12 | 1 | 2.78% |
| 3 or 11 | 2 | 5.56% |
| 4 or 10 | 3 | 8.33% |
| 5 or 9 | 4 | 11.11% |
| 6 or 8 | 5 | 13.89% |
| 7 | 6 | 16.67% |
