What is Markdown?

Can I save my Markdown as a PDF?

Yes. Press Print / PDF and choose Save as PDF as the printer to get a neatly formatted document.

Can I paste the formatted text into Google Docs or email?

Yes. Copy rich text copies the formatted version, so headings, lists, links and tables keep their formatting when you paste.

Will I lose my work if I close the tab?

No. Your document autosaves in this browser and reopens automatically. Download a .md file to keep a permanent copy or move it to another device.

What keyboard shortcuts can I use?

Ctrl+B for bold, Ctrl+I for italic, Ctrl+K for a link and Ctrl+S to download. Tab indents lines, and Enter continues lists automatically. Use Cmd instead of Ctrl on a Mac.

Can I open an existing .md file?

Yes. Press Open file, or drag a .md or .txt file onto the editor, and it loads instantly.
