Pluck any string and the tuner finds it, marks it when in tune, and ignores noise between notes.
Sound is analysed on your device and never recorded or sent anywhere. No app or sign-up needed.
Standard tuning takes about a minute.

A cent is one hundredth of a semitone. Most people cannot hear an error below about 5 cents, which is why the tuner shows green within that range. At 50 cents you are halfway to the next note.
Press Start tuning, allow the microphone, and pluck one string. Turn the tuning peg until the needle sits in the centre and the note turns green, then move on to the next string.
From the thickest string to the thinnest: E2, A2, D3, G3, B3 and E4. A common way to remember it is Eddie Ate Dynamite, Good Bye Eddie.
Yes. Choose Bass for E A D G, or Ukulele for G C E A. There are also presets for violin and a chromatic mode for any other instrument.
Check that the browser has microphone permission and that the level bar moves when you play. Move closer to the mic, play one string at a time and reduce background noise. Low bass notes work best with a laptop or external mic rather than a small phone speaker area.
Drop D lowers the thickest string from E to D, giving D A D G B E. It makes power chords easier and is popular in rock and metal.
440 Hz is the modern standard used by most music and instruments. Use 432 Hz only if you are playing along with music tuned that way. You can set any value from 430 to 450 Hz.
