Clicks are counted on press. Space mode: focus the box and tap Space. Holding a key does not count.

    Why it’s better

A CPS test that tells you more than a number

Most click speed tests show one score in a page full of ads. This one measures precisely, explains your clicking and keeps your records.

    Precise, press-based counting

Each click is timestamped on press with the browser’s high-resolution clock, and the timer starts on your first click. Clicks after time runs out are ignored.

Peak CPS and a live chart

See your average CPS, clicks per minute, your fastest one-second burst and a chart that shows exactly when you sped up or ran out of steam.

    Click rhythm score

Rhythm measures how even the gaps between your clicks are. A steady rhythm usually means a technique you can sustain in a real game.

    Left, right or spacebar

Test your left click, right click or spacebar speed with the same accurate timer. Touch screens work too, so you can test tap speed on your phone.

    Auto-clicker check

Machine-perfect timing or impossible speeds are flagged and not saved as a record, so your personal bests stay honest.

    Personal bests for every mode

Your best score for each time and input is saved on your device, along with your recent results. No account and no leaderboard sign-up needed.

    How it works

How to take the CPS test

Your CPS score is simply total clicks divided by the test time in seconds.

    1. Pick a time

Choose 1 or 5 seconds for a quick burst, 10 seconds for the standard test, or 30 to 100 seconds to test stamina.

    2. Pick an input

Left click is the classic test. Right click and Space test other buttons. On a phone, just tap.

    3. Start clicking

The timer starts with your first click inside the box. Keep clicking as fast as you can until the bar reaches the end.

    4. Check your score

See your CPS, rank, peak CPS, rhythm and chart. Wait for the one-second cool-down, then click to try again.

    Benchmarks

    What is a good CPS?

With normal clicking, most people score around 6 to 7 clicks per second. Beating 8 CPS usually means you are using a faster technique, and double-digit scores come from jitter or butterfly clicking. Shorter tests produce higher scores because you can hold a burst for a few seconds but not for a minute.

    Techniques

    Clicking techniques explained

Gamers use four main techniques. Faster methods put more strain on your hand and your mouse, so warm up and take breaks.

    About 5–8 CPS

    Regular clicking

One finger clicking normally. Easy to control and accurate for aiming, but slower than other methods.

    About 8–12 CPS

    Jitter clicking

Tensing your forearm so your finger vibrates on the button. Fast in short bursts, but tiring and hard on your wrist.

    About 10–20 CPS

    Butterfly clicking

Alternating two fingers on the same button. Very fast, and it can register double clicks on mice with low debounce.

    20+ CPS

    Drag clicking

Dragging a finger across the button so friction creates many clicks at once. It depends heavily on the mouse and the surface of the button.

    How to increase your CPS

Small changes to your grip, your setup and your practice routine add up quickly.

    Technique

    • Keep your wrist relaxed and click from the finger, not the whole arm.
    • Use a claw or fingertip grip so your finger sits right above the button.
    • Practise with 5 and 10 second tests, then build stamina with 30 seconds.
    • Aim for a steady rhythm first. Speed follows consistency.

    Setup

    • A light gaming mouse with crisp switches is easier to click quickly.
    • Check that your mouse is not double clicking on its own with our mouse tester. Worn switches inflate scores and ruin aim.
    • Sit so your forearm is supported and your hand is level with the mouse.
    • Stop if you feel pain. Fast techniques can strain your hand and wrist.
    FAQ

    CPS test: frequently asked questions

    What does CPS mean?

CPS stands for clicks per second. It is your total number of clicks divided by the length of the test in seconds. For example, 65 clicks in a 10-second test is 6.5 CPS.

    What is the average CPS?

Most people click about 6 to 7 times per second with a normal technique. Experienced gamers using jitter or butterfly clicking often reach 10 to 14 CPS, and drag clicking can go above 20.

What is a good CPS for Minecraft PvP?

Around 8 to 12 CPS is considered strong for PvP, but aim and timing matter more than raw speed. Many servers also limit how many clicks per second they accept, so check your server’s rules before using very fast techniques.

Which time mode should I use?

The 10-second test is the most common benchmark. Use 1 or 5 seconds to test your top burst speed, and 30, 60 or 100 seconds to test stamina. Compare scores only within the same time mode.

Can I test right click or the spacebar?

Yes. Choose Right to count only right clicks, or Space to count spacebar presses. In Space mode, click the box once to focus it and then tap the spacebar. Holding a key down does not count extra presses.

Why was my score flagged as a possible auto-clicker?

Human clicks always vary slightly in timing. If the gaps between clicks are almost perfectly identical at a high speed, or the speed is beyond what a person can manage, the result is flagged and not saved as a personal best.

Does my mouse affect my CPS?

Yes. Button weight, switch type and debounce time all change how fast clicks register. Some mice register extra clicks with butterfly or drag clicking, while a faulty mouse may double click on its own.

Does the CPS test work on phones?

Yes. Tap inside the box with one or more fingers and every tap is counted. Tap speed on a touchscreen is usually a little different from mouse clicking, so compare scores on the same device.
