What’s different when an Indian Shopify store sells overseas
Most Shopify guides assume Shopify Payments, which isn’t available in India. That changes how international prices, payments and paperwork work for a Noida brand. These are the decisions I set up with you before launch.

Prices by market
Shopify Markets lets you group countries, show local currencies and round prices sensibly. Overseas prices should be built from cost, shipping, gateway and exchange fees and a returns allowance, not your India price plus shipping.

International payments
Without Shopify Payments, overseas cards go through an Indian gateway with international payments enabled, often with PayPal as a second option. Whether buyers pay in their own currency or in rupees depends on that gateway, so we decide the store’s base currency before the first order.

Paperwork for foreign payments
Export sales need records of each foreign remittance for GST. I pick a gateway setup that makes those records easy to download, and keep order data tidy for your CA.

Shipping and duties at checkout
International rates shown at checkout, not after, and a clear decision on whether duties are included in the price or paid by the buyer on delivery.

Your Indian customers first
UPI, COD rules, pincode checks and GST invoices for the domestic side, so going global never makes the store worse for buyers at home.

FAQ
Questions before hiring a Shopify developer in Noida
Can overseas customers pay in their own currency?
They can see prices in their currency through Shopify Markets. Whether they are charged in that currency or in rupees depends on the payment gateway, because Shopify Payments isn’t available to Indian stores. I explain the options for your gateway before we set the store’s base currency.
Can we sell abroad and in India from one store?
Yes. One Shopify store can serve both, with separate markets for India and your overseas countries, each with its own currency display, shipping and payment options.
Do you handle our export compliance?
No. I set up the store so the records your CA needs are easy to get, but GST, export and foreign-exchange rules should be confirmed by your CA for your business.
Should we hire a Noida agency or a freelancer?
An agency suits you if you want branding, photography, ads and development under one contract. A freelancer suits a clearly scoped store build or clean-up where you want to talk directly to the developer. I’ll tell you on the first call if your project needs an agency.
You’re in Chennai. How does that work?
Shopify work happens in your admin and on calls, so location matters very little. We share a time zone, and meetings are video calls rather than office visits.
What will the store cost to run each month?
Shopify’s plan, Shopify’s transaction fee on third-party gateways, gateway fees and any paid apps. My Chennai Shopify page breaks these down. My build is a separate, fixed quote.
Is WordPress with WooCommerce a better fit?
Sometimes, especially for businesses whose website is mainly for enquiries or content. See my WordPress developer for Noida page for that side.
Do you guarantee international sales?
No. Overseas demand depends on your product, pricing and marketing. My job is a store that overseas buyers can trust, understand and pay on without friction.
